Gar Wharton
When I paint no one judges me, time stands still, I am free to be without thinking, to experiment and take risks. Painting is the fullest expression of me.
My sister taught me to draw when I was 6. The first thing I drew was a trash can. I studied drawing and art at school in Texas until I left home. I spent the next 20 years mainly in California, studying, working in an cubicle and drawing for my children from time to time.
I moved to Vancouver and returned to artistic drawing in 2010. I painted my first painting in 2011. I am now a resident of Lions Bay, BC, Canada and enjoy painting most days.
